Sketchfu

Watch me draw an eye!

Another 5 Days Worth

Embraced
They embraced at the train station. It had been two years– two long sufferable years and there she is again looking like the angel he remembered. If the weather wasn’t so overcast and dark, and the train wasn’t emitting eerie howls, the moment would have been quite a romantic one. Instead, it filled the both with a sense of foreboding. Both knew that this was illegal. Both could really cared less.

Station [The Market Spoiler]
With his hand clamped tight around mine, he pulled me through town with an eager smile on his face. “Where are we going?” I asked sharply. He gestured for me to be quiet and continued to tug my arm after him. Eventually, a shape rose from the horizon as we made out way past the city and into the bare land surrounding it. “A train station.” He whispered as a black strip along the ground focused into tracks and the building became distinctly prominent in the landscape; A mangled, overgrown clock continued it’s steady ticks from a nook above the main doors. I have never seen this place before- never even heard of it- and by the current deteriorating state of the loading dock and ticket windows and benches, neither had anyone else in our town.

Train [The Market Spoiler]
The train lolled to a stop not 50 feet from us. I could feel Oddie frozen at my side; his hand squeezing my tiny one till it was white and my fingertips were purpling. Thick billowing smoke rose high into the air as doors of the train carts slid open, screeching angrily. A flood of a hundred, one-hundred-fifty, two hundred and counting soldiers clad in black from head to toe spread out from the train like a nasty oil spill; they stretched and yawned and scratched their stomachs indignantly. Suddenly, I’m being yanked, and Oddie is running and dragging me from the train station with a look of utter terror on his face. I don’t understand it, but I don’t need to. I run with him.

Smile (Totally went past the 1-minute mark on this one.)
Midst the hustle and bustle of people on the streets, I make my way with my head down, a dark curtain of hair veiling my face from the world and its prying eyes. A group of teens to my left walk by briskly laughing and passing a cell phone around with glee. Thoughts storm around my head; memories, no less, and unpleasant ones from my highschool years. A couple across the street smothers each other in eskimo kisses and I think to myself, “I’ve never been given an eskimo kiss.” The sky is a deep grey and mounds of black and purple clouds bank on the east. A fork of lightning cuts across the sky illuminating my destination. A bridge. The sooner I get there the better and then it will all be over and the pain will stop for good. My steps splash across the street and in my nerves and anticipation, I don’t notice the man in front me until we collide and we’re both sprawled into two oily puddles. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” I hurry out but he lifts his hand to stop my mutterings. He picks up his satchel and smiles at me warmly before helping me to my feet and strolling away without a word. My eyes follow his handsome figure for some time until its lost in the sea of people. I think, “Maybe, I’ll just go home.”

Wonder
Day on day I wonder why she is so abstract. Why she constantly fixes me with a look as if I’m a rare specimen she’s analyzing. I wonder why she is so damn perfect in her abundant flaws. She’s an artist– an artist with the talent of a million Picasos and then some. She studies me with smug fondness and a little bit of muffled mirth; not until I peak over her shoulder do I realize with a flattering start that she is drawing me. It’s really a wonder that I don’t smother her till both are breaths leave us for good at the very moment.

5 Days Worth

Here are the first fives days worth of Onewords I've done. I have one minute to write these.

Corner
The street corner was lit by a lone street lamp, illuminating the concrete in a circle of yellow-y light. A woman stood in center of it proudly, as if on a stage, yet her fair features were muddled in dark shadows.

Teacher
Immediately I think, “This teacher has got to be insane.” The lady has a curly mane of pea green hair and plump purple lips. She wears a tie-dyed dress, covered with little plastic dragons that look to have been shoddily super glued to the fabric, that fits her- ahem- curves in a rather unfortunate manner.

Rise
She rose from the sea in the night, her black hair cascading down her slender frame in long, damp, curling trendals adorned with molesks and shells. She spotted the boat in the distance, and her flawless lips curved up in a sardonic smile knowing exactly what she was about to do and caring none about its repercussions. She opened her mouth and out burst the most beautiful song ever heard to human ears. She could tell immediately that the sailors could hear her because the boat had silenced, and really, they always hear. The Siren’s Song would always be heard by the unsuspecting and they always come running. She chuckled delicately and continued to sing.

Funeral
“Ah, yes, well you see, Mrs. Tutsufreeny, your husband was in the coffin when he was put up on the platform– yes, yes, I can assure you he was perfectly fine– Hm, what was that? Gone? Well, I promise that he is– No, that’s nonsense– Ma’am, dead men don’t go just strolling from their coffins willly nilly– no ma’am, I am not mocking you– n-no ma’am, I never once called you a liar– Please, ma– OUCH!”

Beloved
She’s an angel. With golden blonde curls and milky smooth skin doused in golden flicks streaming in from the window of the train cart, the dawning sun just visible at the pink horizon. He doesn’t know why she had taken a liking to him. Not that he minds. But her father minds– the army of men marching around the perimeter of the train do– her friends and family back home do. But maybe if they knew how beloved she were to him, how much he adored this angelic Charlotte, maybe they wouldn’t kill him on the spot.
( Spoiler Alert ;) Hint, hint)

Photobucket
And who is this, you may ask? Well, this is Seally from The Market. Never would I think that I would find such a perfect visual of her but here you are!

Hunger Games Cast and What I think about it

The Official Hunger Games Cast

The Seam

Katniss Everdeen- Jennifer Lawrence

Photobucket

At first, I was upset to say the least. All I was thinking was: She's not small. She's not dark haired. She doesn't have an olive skin tone. She doesn't Seam grey eyes. She's too old. But I had to accept her right? Not much of a choice, really. So, in a desperate attempt to like her, I watched Winter's Bone. And I'm glad I did. She is an amazing actress. I am glad she got the role and I know she will do an great job. Based on some of her recent interviews, it's quite clear that she is 100% dedicated to the role and as an avid reader of the books, she understands what needs to be made of the character. Plus, she is an overall down to Earth person which anyone can help but love. All in all, she deserved the role and she looks fantastic as a brunette.

Peeta Mellark- Josh Hutcherson

Photobucket

I was fuming mad when he was first casted. Originally, I wanted Hunter Parrish to get the role and hope (preyed) he'd get the role. When he didn't I neared tears. I don't find Josh especially attractive and I always assumed Peeta's personality carried over to his looks. Another thing that troubled me with Josh's casting was the fact that he and Jennifer are the same height. In the book, it stresses the size difference between Katniss and the other tributes (including Peeta) quite often and Jennifer is as tall or taller than a majority of the tributes casted. However, with all this said, Josh has started to grow on me. I watched him in The Kids Are All Right and I thought he did exceptionally well in it. I also know that, like Jennifer, he is 100% dedicated to the role and understands the book and character quite well.

Gale Hawthorn- Liam Hemsworth

Photobucket

If I'm being honest, I really didn't care much about the casting of Gale since I never much liked his character. I am satisfied with this casting and not because Liam is one big hunk of eye candy. I feel like Gale is a quiet character that shows his emotions through his actions more than his words (like Peeta). I think that Liam can pull off the hard, brooding, handsome boy that is Gale Hawthorne. The only downside I can see in this casting is that shallow fan girls who only watch the movies will immediately go 'Team Gale' because, let's be real, Liam and Jennifer are going to make a hot duo.

Haymitch Abernathy- Woody Harrelson

Photobucket

I LOVE THIS CASTING. This guy is so hilarious. I watched him in Zombieland and I knew right then that he will make a hilarious and perfect Haymitch. Plus, he just has that asshole, drunkard look about him. I am so excited to see him in this movie.

Primrose Everdeen- Willow Shields

Photobucket

This girl is absolutely adorable. As far as acting goes, I haven't seen her in anything since she is quite new to Hollywood, but I know she has that sweet innocent look about her that will spur her sister to walk into eminent death for her.

Mrs. Everdeen- Paula Malcomson

Photobucket

I don't how good an actress she is but I've heard from multiple sources that she is a fantastic one. Plus, she has the weathered look that I always associated with Katniss' mom.

The Capitol

Effie Trinket- Elizabeth Banks

Photobucket

A lot of fans we upset by her casting but I've yet to figure out why exactly. I think Elizabeth is near perfect. With her pink wig, she will be a spitting image of the Effie in my head. I really hope she can pull off the humorous bits but other than that, I'm sure she'll be great.

The Prep Team

Cinna- Lenny Kravitz

Photobucket

Definitely not how I pictured Cinna at all. I always pictured him like Hugh Dancy. But this guy admittedly has a fashion designer look about him, and he is very soft spoken (as I've noticed in a few of his interviews) which I think is exactly what Cinna is all about- quiet yet powerful. I haven't seen him act, but I really hope he can pull off the role because its a huge one.

Portia- Latarsha Rose

Photobucket

To be honest, I really like the whole sweet looking, african american designers. It think it's because they match and Portia and Cinna always kind of matched in my mind. Portia isn't mentioned much in the book but to me she always seemed like the motherly type which Latarsha has the look for. Overall, I really, really like this casting.

Octavia- Brooke Bundy

Photobucket

I have no idea why I love this girl as Octavia so much.

Venia- Kimiko Gelman

Photobucket

Never really had a set image of Venia in my head so no complaints here.

Flavius- Nelson Ascencio

Photobucket

THIS. I love this guy's look. He seems a little fruity which is how I imagined Flavius to be.

The 'Entertainers'

President Snow- Donald Sutherland

Photobucket

This may not be how I pictured Snow in my head but really... Wow, just wow. He looks so evil and President Snow-like I just can't... I really hope he's a good actor, though. Many sources say he is.

Claudius Templesmith- Toby Jones

Photobucket

Not exactly how I pictured Claudius, but this guy is absolutely adorable and I'm excited to see him in the part.

Seneca Crane- Wes Bentley

Photobucket

Two words: Nom nom. This guy is one steaming hunk of I'd-totally-get-in-his-bed-after-he's-done-blowing-up-kids-in-an-arena. I'm so excited to see him in the movie because he kind of has a kind of darkness in his devilish features and because the fact that he was even casted means we'll get to see the behind-the-scenes of the Hunger Games which you never got to experience in the books.

Caesar Flickerman- Stanley Tucci

Photobucket

Oh god, this guy. He is awfully adorable for an older gentleman. I seriously can't wait to see him in blue lipstick and a blue wig. And him just being Caesar! I love love love this casting even though it wasn't my original idea of The Flickerman.

The Tributes

District 1

Marvel- Jack Quaid

Photobucket

I didn't even remember who Marvel was so I could have cared less who he was casted as him.

Glimmer- Leven Rambin

Photobucket

I really like this. She seems kind of... glimmery. (Even though it would have been more appropriate to name her Bloodlust or Profanity)

District 2

Cato- Alexander Ludwig

Photobucket

I would say that I wish that he had gotten the role as Peeta (since he made the cuts for the role and was in the top five guys being chosen for the role) but really, he looks like a total douche which Peeta is NOT. I admit, Cato was always some huge bully in my mind while reading the books but Alex has a cunning, calculating look about him which is exactly what Cato is- cunning and manipulating. Overall, I approve of this casting.

Clove- Isabelle Fuhrman

Photobucket

I still haven't figured out why I absolutely LOVE this casting. I think it's just her... look. She looks like she would totally kill a crap load of kids and not shed a tear about it. Plus, for some reason, I always assumed Cato and Clove had some sort of demented version of romance and Alex and Issabelle would be a hot couple. (I know, I'm a freak.) Anyway, I love her in this role. CAN NOT wait to see her try to cut up Katniss' face on the big screen!

District 3

Photobucket
I don't have much to say about this casting. I like it, but they weren't major characters therefor opinions or visualizations weren't made.

District 4

Photobucket
I don't have much to say about this casting. I like it, but they weren't major characters therefor opinions or visualizations weren't made.

District 5

Fox Face- Jackie Emerson

Photobucket
Foxface is... okay, I suppose. I really pictured her tall and skinny and nimble with a face that resembled, well, a fox. Like, a pointy nose and close knit eyes and small lips and freckles- lots of freckles. At least she's a ginger. As for the boy, I don't have much to say about this casting. I like it, but they weren't major characters therefor opinions or visualizations weren't made.

District 6

Photobucket
I don't have much to say about this casting. I like it, but they weren't major characters therefor opinions or visualizations weren't made.

District 7

District 10

Photobucket

District 11

Rue- Amandla Stenberg
Photobucket

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS. This girl is so cute and she kind of looks like the actress who plays Prim that it is believable that Katniss would team up with her because she reminds her of her sister. Plus, just... just look at that wittle face of hers. SO PRESH.

Thresh- Dayo Okeniyi

Photobucket

Seriously, this casting is godly in its perfection. He looks so sweet and innocent which will make it even more heartbreaking which his busts a bitch's skull. And when he dies. OVERALL, I freakin' love this guy as the big lug, Thresh.
